And now, a look into a photo shoot with the beautiful Ash Koley. A Sony BMG artist she has made a name fore herself on the Lilith fair circuit and her single “Don’t Let you feet touch ground”, you might recognize it from a certain lottery commercial, though we aren’t going to reveal with one.
You can listen to it HERE.
Our theme for the shoot’s beauty story spans over the 1920′s-1930′s with a modern edge. We thought it would be gorgeous with Ash’s full lips and cropped red hair. With all the retro in the Fall collections, we wanted to go wayyyy back and really give Ash a decade that suited her; her style is unique, and all her own, and it shows in the shoot.
Vintage clothes have been pulled from Divine Decadence alongside runway Hermés pieces, Thein Le and Andy The Anh; it is the mixture that makes it the looks so tense and interesting, and it is really a commentary on the modern way to dress. Historically speaking women used to buy an entire outfit, head-to-toe, from one designer, today the modern woman mixes, matches and makes her own way.
Anywho, today’s Müdd stylist is Christine Vieira, and she is the sweetest most inventive little thing. And can I say her taste of shoes is impeccable!!! There was not a single shoe that I did not want to steal for myself. We both chatted away about our blogs, and shoes, and the general wardrobe envy we have for all the 16 year old bloggers with a wardrobe provided almost entirely by Miu Miu… you know that kind, we are all pea-green with envy and, sigh, admiration. Here are some shots of the clothes she has pulled …. and of course the shoes. Christine can be seen helping dress Ash.

(Those brown booties y’all are lusting over are Marni for your information… I almost snatched them up and snuck them out of the studio, but alas, I was caught red-handed)
Our photographer Andrew Soule was genius as always, and really has a way of charming the talent so that everyone feels really comfortable. Of course, it never hurts to have Mahfud in the room purring about how to make “beautiful love to the camera”, clichés aside, you would not believe how reassuring his french accent can make you feel.
You can see a photo of the shoot with Andrew doing what he does best in the above gallery (last pic).
We also have an behind the scenes video coming up on our website, from Atomic Clock Cinematic Arts whom we have worked with before….. stay tuned because even from the first edit we can tell that is going to be fab!
Above is a shot of Ash, Andrew and the amazingly talented camera man for Atomic Clock.
Wellll, that’s all for now!
xoxo,
Amanda
