Something Cool For Your Eardrums

For all those that love searching out cool new music like me, I’d like to share a new find. My taste in music is varied, and it is always a pleasure to find up and coming artists locally and from around our small globe. One of my favourite spots to find new music is the “Motherland of the Commonwealth”, Britain! The duo, from Manchester, that I want to introduce to you has an, as they like to call it, “electronic” sound. Some would say reminiscent of the 1980’s along the lines of a Duran Duran vibe, but don’t let them hear you say that! Adam and Theo comprise Hurts, not The Hurts just Hurts, and released their debut album “Happiness” September 6, 2010 which was received quite well in the UK.The Times called the band “A New Wave Gilbert and George…they are the New Emotional”, The Independent called the record “Efficient and Stylish”, while the Daily Express praised the album for “a real sense of style that’s been missing in British pop for some time”, The Daily Record called it “one of the best pop debuts of 2010″. N.B. Kylie Minogue is featured in the song “Devotion”.
