Ah Pre-Fall. What does it all mean? We don't want to say that Pre-Fall is bigger than Fall, but it can certainly be more lucrative. Fall Collections, especially the couture ones, are expensive to create, and expensive to buy - these days there is a smaller and smaller market for couture lines, and RTW can have price tags that can send you into shock too. The solution for a lot of designers has been Pre-Fall. It allows the creative team to explore a theme and their price points can be lower than the Fall collections. It can reach a bigger market and really show-off variations on a designers' theme.
Here are a few pics of one of my favorite Pre-Fall 2012, Louis Vuitton. A RTW line that really speaks to my heart. 1940's inspired, this line really explores military feel with softer fabrications. The 1960's mod yellow dress is a kind of one off, but I could really look adorable on say a Elle Fanning or Chloe Moritz.
